This mural was created for the public Galán Primary School in Pamplona, Colombia, located 2,460 meters high in the Andes Mountains. The project was part of the initiative “100 in a Day,” through which I collaborated with children to paint a mural for the school. Through this artwork, I introduced students to the condition of cleft lip, using art as a way to explain difference, identity, and empathy. The mural became an opportunity to open a conversation with the children about diversity and to show that what makes us different can also be a source of strength and beauty.
